The Bear Inn

Our Hotel and Motel offers great accommodation; a place to relax or to host your event,
wedding reception or function. Our excellent restaurant caters for hotel guests, visitors,
tourists and villagers alike. For centuries the Inn and Hotel has been at the centre of
Burwash village life; a place where locals and travelers both, enjoy a great selection of
real ales and a warm friendly welcome.

Our Hotel has 8 Rooms, 4 Twin and 4 Double - £45 per night for a single occupant,
£65 for two. Breakfast, of course, is included.

Burwash Place is a large country home in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The house has a long and interesting history and has connections with many notable people, including Rudyard Kipling, who has stayed at Burwash place.


The house has spacious, themed rooms, a large garden and a covered heated swimming pool, and is close to pubs, restaurants and visitor attractions.

Church House

Church House, in the High Street and opposite the Church is the home of Rosemary and
Graham Sendall. Guests will discover a charming Georgian house packed with interesting
features including paintings by artist Graham. A hearty breakfast, cooked on an Aga
includes dry cured bacon, Burwash Beauty sausages, free range eggs and home baked
bread served in the elegant dining room where an open fireplace is lit during colder
months. Only one booking at a time enables guests to enjoy exclusive use of the sitting
room and garden.

The Rose & Crown Rose & Crown

The Rose & Crown is a lovely historic inn originally dating back to Tudor times. We have a constantly changing à la carte menu containing many fresh fish dishes, quality wines, Harveys real ales, and bar snacks are available within relaxed and pleasant surroundings. Log fires and a Sunday carvery during the winter months.

There is a lovely garden and courtyard where you can also enjoy eating outside, weather permitting.

We also have four newly refurbished bed and breakfast rooms, two doubles and two twins and all the rooms have modern en suite shower rooms.

Lime Tree Tea Rooms

A small family business run by Jane and Ian Tasker. All cakes are homemade using free-range eggs from coffee & walnut to a gluten free cake made with oranges & almonds.

There is also the ultimate cream tea as well as a selection of light snacks and freshly-cut sandwiches.

Hours of opening are Wednesday - Sunday 10-30am to 5-00pm. Closed Monday and Tuesday. We are even open throughout the winter season.

Bistro@thestation is located within a beautiful stone built Grade II listed building originally constructed in 1852 by South Eastern Railway. As a community interest project local people worked with Network Rail, Southeastern and other sponsors to renovate the once partially derelict building to open an award winning bistro and meeting place.

Why not drop in for a drink and light bite? Opening hours Monday to Friday 5.30am to 2pm
for coffee, cakes, full breakfast and lunch. Evening opening 6pm on Wednesday, Thursday
and Friday for tapas, fine wines and beers.
