I usually work by myself, however if the job requires it I have someone who will come and help me. I am able to undertake many aspects of garden work including: paving, hedge cutting, building garden walls, laying turf, all types of fencing, laying foundations for driveways, building raised beds, general garden clearance, preparing shed bases and erecting sheds. We are a small award winning landscape company based in Burwash Weald. We provide a service from concept to completion - and everything in-between. We are very proud of our provenance and use many local suppliers. We employ a range of qualified staff, many of whom trained within Sussex at Plumpton College.

We live and work within East Sussex and the county borders. We work closely with a Mayfield based designer, Tina Vallis, who is a registered member of The Society of Garden Designers.

Shanks Nursery 
Established over 35 years, Shanks Nursery has always strived to supply good quality plants and helpful horticultural advice. Presently run by husband and wife team for the last 9 years we have developed the nursery from not only a long established destination for quality plants, from bedding to a specimen tree, to also offering a border design service and landscaping service.
From starting with advice on which plant will grow in a particular part of the garden it has developed to designing just a single border to overhauling the whole garden, often re-using the main structure of the existing garden to achieve a more balanced and manageable result. Starting with a picture, or site visit we can design a solution for yourselves at a level of costing you are happy with, then we can supply plants only, or supply and plant for you with our dedicated team. We aim to plant at a size and density that suits your needs and budget, as you can see from our website in only a few years a mature look can be achieved.
Over the last 6 years we have had the pleasure of working at the RHS Chelsea Flower show and supplied plants for and worked on a garden at Hampton Court. Although our core business is our plants it is great to display our plants at such prestige shows and winning awards for the past 4 years is a great chance to see our quality and range of plants is as up to the level we expect.
