Burwash Playing Field Association (BPFA) is a charitable organisation (Registered Charity No. 305191) established to administer and manage Swan Meadow playing field, Ham Lane, Burwash. The site is registered and maintained as a playing field in perpetuity.

The pavilion and sports hall on Swan Meadow playing field were constructed in 1998 at the same time as the two all weather tennis courts with the assistance of a Sports Council Lottery grant. The playing field, pavilion and the children’s play area are maintained by fundraising and donations which the BPFA Committee administer and manage. The tennis courts are currently maintained by agreement by the Tennis Club.

Burwash Fair on August Bank Holiday Monday is the single largest annual fundraising event in the Parish and is run by the B.P.F.A. to help meet annual costs and also enables other charitable groups within the community and national charities to raise funds for their needs. OUTDOOR THEATRE AT SWAN MEADOW

The ever popular Rude Mechanical Theatre company will be coming to Swan Meadow, Burwash again this summer. The show will be on Saturday 20 July at 7.30pm.

They will be performing ‘Oberon's Cure’. This lovely, poetic and funny play was first produced in 2005 as ‘The Fairy Queen’, but has been updated and has a brand new live music score.

The action takes place before Shakespeare's mischievous play and has all the usual madcap mime and plot turns we've come to expect from The Rudes. All things lead to the Midsummer Moon where revelations and vows are made, lovers meet and just deserts are served.

Come dressed for an English summer!  Arrive early for picnics. You will need to bring your own chairs or rugs to sit on. Tickets are available from the company’s website – www.therudemechanicaltheatre.co.uk.
